About Tried and Kept

Hi, I’m Surendar Kumar, and Tried and Kept is my small, independent site about the gear people actually hold on to.

Most review sites tell you what’s exciting on day one. I’m more interested in what’s still on the counter, the desk or the workbench a year later. So the question I ask about every product is simple: is this something people try and then keep?

What we cover

We’re starting with three areas and going deep on them rather than covering everything:

  • Coffee and espresso machines, for people making cafe-style drinks at home
  • Home office and ergonomics, such as standing desks and chairs
  • 3D printers, for beginners and hobbyists

How our guides are made

I want to be upfront about this. Right now our guides are research-based. They draw on manufacturer specifications, verified owner reviews, long-term owner reports in forums and communities, and respected independent testing. When we have tested something ourselves, we’ll say so clearly in the article. If we haven’t, we won’t pretend we have. You can read the details on our How We Review page.

How the site is funded

Some links on the site may become affiliate links, which means we might earn a small commission if you buy something. It costs you nothing extra, and it doesn’t decide what we recommend. Our Affiliate Disclosure explains how it works.

Thanks for stopping by. If you spot a mistake or want to share how a product has held up for you, I’d genuinely love to hear it on our Contact page.
