How We Review

Trust is the whole point of this site, so here’s exactly how our recommendations come together.

Our sources

At the moment, our guides are research-based rather than hands-on. For each product we look at:

  • Manufacturer specifications from the official product pages and manuals, which we link to in each article.
  • Verified owner reviews from retailers, with attention to the 2- and 3-star reviews, where the real trade-offs usually show up.
  • Long-term owner reports from forums and communities, where people describe what broke, what wore out and what they’d buy again.
  • Independent testing by established publications, which we credit by name.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t claim to have tested a product unless we actually have. If we do get hands-on time with something, the article will say so plainly and tell you how long we used it.
  • We don’t accept payment for positive coverage.
  • We don’t make up scores, measurements or “lab results.”

The “kept” test

Our main question isn’t “is this impressive?” It’s “do owners still use it and like it after months or years?” We weigh reliability, repairability, running costs, warranty support and how easy a product is to live with every day.

Keeping things current

Prices and models change. We note when a guide was last checked and update it when specs, prices or availability change in a way that matters. If you notice something out of date, please let us know.
